Whether one Hacker News story or comment is still there: its id or news.ycombinator.com/item?id= link in, the item with its current points and comment count out. A deleted or killed item, or an id that was never issued, is a not_found miss; a source that cannot answer now is never one (a rate limit holds, any other failure is a vendor_error miss). Keyless.
